One of the largest public projects ever undertaken in Jersey in the Channel Islands, the decision to grant the £710m Acute Hospital full planning permission was unanimously agreed in February 2025. Llewelyn Davies are acting as Master Planners, Lead Architect, Clinical Planners and Interior Designers for the government.
About the project
The 47,500 sqm Overdale Acute Hospital can now move forward to deliver a first-class facility that will provide the best in healthcare when it becomes fully operational by 2028.

As Lead Architects, Llewelyn Davies was originally employed in July 2020 by the Main Works Delivery Partner as Lead Architects for the former Our Hospital Project (OHP). The project was granted full planning permission in 2022 but the newly elected government of the same year decided to pursue an alternative healthcare delivery strategy, which saw Llewelyn Davies being reappointed to lead the design of the new Acute Hospital at Overdale, St Helier.
