Llewelyn Davies was commissioned by a public/private partnership to lead a multidisciplinary team in the preparation of a master plan for Bath Western Riverside, a 35 hectare riverside site and the single largest development opportunity in Bath. In the context of a World Heritage City, Llewelyn Davies established the initial framework for urban development focussing on the creation of high quality public realm.

About this project

Of critical importance was the need to link the existing historic centre of Bath to the new urban area, creating an extension of the city enabling connectivity between commercial, cultural and residential uses. This work led to the submission of Supplementary Planning Guidance for the City and subsequent details applications by private developers for significant new residential development.
