A single organ (heart) hospital built as memorial to eldest son of Aristotle Onassis and donated to Greek government, this hospital performs on two levels: specialist heart hospital, and a fitting memorial and expression of generosity.

The firm were appointed by the Alexander S Onassis Public Benefit Foundation to provide a range of health planning consultancy services for this 110-bed hospital for cardiac surgery and research.

Pre-construction services covered financial studies including total development costs, medical planning, the architectural brief, outline operational policies and room equipment schedules.

The second stage of the contract includes producing departmental operational policies, operational management and financial systems, and a clinical procedures manual. The firm was also appointed to produce staffing schedules and recruitment and training programmes.

In the final stage the equipping programme involves providing tender documents for the mobile equipment, agreeing criteria for tender evaluation, assessing local equipment manufacturers, and supervising, inspecting and testing equipment on site.
